Vocal Coach – The House of Voice
Annie Mitchell is a graduate of the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Contemporary Vocal Performance, Annie undertook the intensive four year course to further her aural skills, theory knowledge, musicianship as well as vocal ability. Annie specialises in a technical vocal approach that allows you to sing with ease and confidence. Growing up surrounded by jazz musicians, she quickly developed a keen ear for the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Gretchen Parlato, Joni Mitchell, Sarah Vaughan and Esperanza Spalding. Throughout high school she studied jazz through the music specialist program at Carey Baptist College in WA, while maintaining a demanding dance schedule. The Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra then spotted her at the age of 16 and gave her numerous opportunities to curate and develop her sound. Since then she has sung both nationally and internationally while furthering her vocal knowledge and studies. From recording and singing in Japan to venues such as His Majesty’s Theatre, The Crown Ball Room, The State Court Gardens, The Astor Theatre, The King Street Jazz Festival and many more, Annie Mitchell has become well known for her vibrancy, personality and talent. Popular newspaper the Weekend West has described her presence as “something seemed lacking until chanteuse Annie Mitchell took centre stage. Mitchell has a darkly delicious ballad voice”. Since becoming well accomplished in the Western Australian Music Industry, Annie has decided to take her talents to the east coast to chase more performance and teaching opportunities.
