Alisha Gartland

Director and Head Vocal Coach

Alisha Gartland is a graduate of Melba Conservatorium of Music (Dip.Mus) and the Victorian College of the Arts (B. Mus in Musical Performance: Voice) whom has studied and worked professionally as a contemporary pop, musical theatre and opera singer.

Alisha teaches many students from beginners (of all ages) to students already working in the music industry, rebuilding technique, developing vocal style within original songs as well as preparing auditions. All students whom completed their AMEB Certificates/VCE under Alisha’s guidance have received A Honours/Credit results in both CPM & Singing for Leisure from Preliminary to Grade 7.

Nathan Teo

Piano & Piano for Singers Coach

Nathan Teo is a graduate of the University of Melbourne having studied for his Bachelor of Music in Piano. He has performed classical piano and contemporary repertoire at both at the Conservatorium and public events in Melbourne as a piano soloist and accompanist. He actively performs with the Melbourne Bach Choir and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus and is a recipient of the 2019 Melbourne Bach Choir Scholarship where he sings as a tenor. He currently conducts the Citylight Choir and has performed at various community centres, concert venues and events as a pianist conductor, choral accompanist and chorister across Melbourne and Malaysia.

Alice Batt

Vocal Coach

Alice is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre), where she was the grateful recipient of the Lionel Gell Foundation Scholarship. She has since established herself as both a performer and mentor to performers looking to expand their artistic versatility. Her most recent performing credits include the title roles in both ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Snow White’, Anna in ‘Spring Awakening’, ‘You Will Be Found’ and ‘Ned: A New Australian Musical In Concert’, alongside numerous radio and television campaigns.

Dylan Lynton

Guitar Coach

Dylan is now available as the expert guitar tutor here at the House of Voice. Dylan is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts where he specialised in jazz and improvisation, studying under some of Australia’s finest musicians in the country.

In recent years Dylan has been a part of several Melbourne based projects, Including sold out performances at the Night Cat, Open Studio and the Cherry Bar with Echoplex and airtime on RRR with Wings Of Tyto, of which he is a member of the live band. He was also fortunate enough to work with Edward Kutcha, performing Kutchas oringnal pieces reflecting on his life as a member of the Mutti Mutti people and his childhood as part of the stolen generation.

Annie Mitchell

Vocal Coach

Annie specialises in a technical vocal approach that allows you to sing with ease and confidence. Annie Mitchell is a graduate of the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Contemporary Vocal Performance, Annie undertook the intensive four year course to further her aural skills, theory knowledge, musicianship as well as vocal ability. Annie has sung both nationally and internationally while furthering her vocal knowledge and studies. From recording and singing in Japan to venues such as His Majesty’s Theatre, The Crown Ball Room, The State Court Gardens, The Astor Theatre, The King Street Jazz Festival and many more

Lauren Burns

Vocal Coach

Lauren Burns is a Melbourne based lyric coloratura soprano with a flame for music and singing in all it’s forms. In 2017, Lauren graduated with high distinction from a Bachelor of Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Lauren then proceeded to The University of Melbourne to complete her honours year under Head of Voice, Stephen Grant. Lauren has extensively studied Voice, Western Art Music history, conducting, theory, harmony and aural skills. For a number of years she has also studied acting, as well as French, German, Italian, Spanish and Latin language and diction.

Phoebe Baker

Songwriting Workshop Facilitator

Phoebe Baker is co-frontwoman, vocalist, and songwriter of Melbourne-based indie-pop band Alpine. Signed to Ivy League Records in Australia and Votiv in North America, the band has released the EP ‘Zurich’ (2010) and the albums ‘A Is For Alpine’ (2012) and ‘Yuck’ (2015).

Jonathon Moore

Jonathon is now available as the expert guitar tutor here at the House of Voice. Jonathon is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts where he specialised in jazz and improvisation, studying under some of Australia’s finest musicians such as Stephen Magnusson, Chris Hale, Geoff Hughes, Andrea Keller, David Jones and many more. Jonathon is also currently completing his Master’s Master of Music (Performance Teaching) at the University of Melbourne.
